Challenge
A nineteenth-century Scott Township chapel — original stained glass, original acoustics, original scale. The task was to make it habitable without making it generic.
Approach
The octagonal stained glass stayed. The pews went. Oak plank floor, white quartz counter, matte black fixtures. Every decision was measured against whether it let the room keep being the room.
Result
It has run as an active Airbnb since the week it opened. The stained glass is still the first thing guests photograph.
